Urgent requests

Contact us on 0800 932 463 or 09 430 4200 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) if you have an urgent issue.
We will respond to issues reported online outside of our business hours (8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday) on the next working day.

How we can help

Please have your rubbish and recycling items at the kerbside before 7:30am on the day of collection. You can view the collection days on our main website.

Not on a rubbish collection route?

If you don't live on a rubbish collection route, please take your rubbish bags and recycling to the nearest intersection with a collection route, or to your nearest rubbish and recycling station.

Please check

If we haven't collected your household rubbish or recycling, first check the following:
  • you used a Council approved bag
  • you placed your bins or bags out on the correct day of the week by 7:30am
  • a sticker was left explaining there was a problem, such as your bag was too heavy, or incorrect items in your recycling bin.

Unsure what goes in your red or blue bin

If none of the above apply, it is after 4:00pm on your collection day and within one working day of your normal collection time, please report your missed collection.

Wheelie bins

Wheelie bins are provided by private companies. Please contact your provider for your wheelie bin collection day or a missed collection.

Report an issue

Please include a specific street address and location details as well as a contact phone number so that we can find the missed rubbish.
We try to resolve all issues within 15 working days, though complex queries may take longer to address.
